manager John Souter was pleased with the good work out we had, Marc (Seager) must have been pleased with the performance of his side they played very well. We have had a great couple of seasons and never put out a poor side, although I was looking at a couple of new lads and our keeper is new to the club it was still a game we wanted to win.?

Played on a much cooler evening than of late, the match maintained a good pace with both sides showing good early intent, Sam Prett being the first to threaten with neat quick shot on the turn just wide of their posts. Andy Constable had chances as well before good work by Gary Sayer, and a good lay-off from Constable gave Mickey Lane the space to run across the face of the home sides area, his low left-footed shot into the right hand corner of the net brought warm applause from around the ground.

Stuart King on for Prett, and it was not long before King showed glimpses of why Town are so pleased to have him at the club. But Kings goal owed much to the good work by Darren Budge whose tenacious play when the home side doubled, then trebled up on him, but he still put in a great cross to King was a joy to watch. Rightly the applause was as much for Budge as it was King finish, a thumping drive low past the keeper. Town at 2-1 up had further chances to extend their lead, whilst in goal for Whitstable Kevin Fewell looked assured and set up some good attacks so all in all a god evenings work for Marc Seager young side.
