WANTED Reserve Team Manager
Applications are being accepted for the vacant position of Reserve Team Manager at Whitstable Town after Simon Kay along with his team of Peter & Colin Budge have decided to take a break from football, all for family reasons. ?I shall still be involved with the football club? said Kay: I just feel that after running at least two sides since I packed up playing at 28 I wanted to take a break and spend a bit more time with my family. I know the timing is not the best but both Peter and Colin tried their very best to get me to stay on for one more season. Like me they have family reasons for stepping aside at the moment, but who knows given a season or so we will no doubt be missing the involvement with the lads big time.? Peter Budge saying: ?Both my brother and I need to take a break for purely family reasons, hopefully we will both be involved with the club on the football side in the not to distant future, but now wee need to take some time out.?  see more...

Kay along with his assistants of the Budge brothers have enjoyed great success these last couple of seasons, winning the Div 2 title only just conceding double figures in goals against, the season before last. Achieving runners up spot last season along with a runners up spot in the Div1 / 2 Cup, Andy Martin top Kent League Goal scorer in Div 1 in the process. ?Whoever takes on the position will have a fine team with plenty of quality players who are committed to Whitstable Town,? said Kay

Applications the club secretary Alan Gower 01227 277875: mobile 07980 865637. Marc Seager WTFC first team manager will have the final say in who is appointed. ?The way that the club is run? said Seager, ?it is very important that I have to have a good relationship with the reserve manager, luckily my relationship with Simon and Peter goes back a long way, Simon and I first met when I was at Deal and we were both managing junior sides and I must say that the success of the reserves these last two seasons despite the support he has given me releasing player when I need that speaks volumes. They have done a fantastic job with the reserves and I would like to publicly thank them for all they have done for the players. I think when you consider that almost every player involved in the reserves cup final last season has played for the fist team, that?s exactly what the club is all about. My aim for all the players from U16?s upwards by giving the youngsters their chance my ideal is that if you?re good enough, then you are old enough.?
