 New
Whitstable Town manager Marc Seager made his first appointment since
being confirmed as the clubs manager on Saturday after Whitstable’s 1-1
result against Tunbridge Wells. Andy Keir gets captaincy... |
Seager who replaced Matt Toms, Whitstable manager for the last
three seasons, has chosen Andy Keir as his captain. “Andy is a born
leader on the pitch, his committed style of play and the respect he
commands make him the ideal candidate for the job, and I had no
hesitation in asking him to take the job. It made it easy for me
stepping down as captain, with a player who knows the club inside out
has the right attitude to do the job, besides it would be asking too
much to stay as captain and still manage the side. I have asked Simon
Halsey to be my assistant, Mark Lane will be the clubs goal-keeping
coach, Graham Brown will continue as first team physio, which completes
the backroom staff. This will enable me to continue to play for at
least another season, believe me I will know when the time is right for
me to hang up my boots.”
