Grass is not always greener?
The following report was posted on Beckenham?s website last week after reports that their newly
laid pitch was dying?It was headlined: D?ja Vu .... 'Saturday?s game against Slade Green should go
ahead providing we do not have any more rain. Once again Beckenham are facing
headaches regarding the pitch at EPA. The contractor who laid the pitch nearly
two years ago has been called back to inspect the playing surface following
recent water logging. Early reports indicate that the pitch is not draining;
this has been caused by compaction and the knock on effect is a disease that
has formed below the grass itself. A full report from the Contractors will be
