ImageMark Wyver on Kent Football: Dartford caused a surprise in the FA Trophy with a 1-0 win at Hartsdown Park against Margate with Dave Martin netting the winning goal.Folkestone won a high scoring game 5-3 against Wealdstone with Jimmy Dryden(2),Stuart Myall,John Guest and Adam Flanagan netting.Cray thanks to John Main(3) and Michael Power defeated Staines 4-3 while goals from Ray Powell and May earnt Tonbridge a 2-1 win over Newport IOW.A goal from Keiron Marsh gave Sittingbourne a 1-0 win over Corby and at Southwood Ramsgate with a goal from Shaun Welford earnt a replay with a 1-1 draw with AFC Wimbledon.Bromley joined Margate in going out of the Trophy after losing 4-1 at Boreham Wood with Nic McDonnell netting a consolation.Gravesend & Northfleet continued their poor run of form in the Nationwide Conference after going down 3-2 at Aldershot with Charlie MacDonald(2) netting for the fleet.


In Conference South Welling  lost their first away game in the league at Weymouth 2-1 with Matt Carruthers netting a consolation. Dover are 2nd in Ryman League 1 after a Craig Wilkins goal gave them a 1-0 win over Banstead at Crabble. Chatham are 6th in Dr Maertens East after being held 2-2 at home by Wivenhoe with Rob Denness and Matt Solly(pen) netting for the kent side.
In the Kent League Cup Group A Herne Bay with Luke Harvey(2) and Steven Lloyd won 3-0 at Sporting Bengal while Erith & Belvedere v Hythe was abandoned after the away side had four players sent off.Group B saw two Steve Marshall goals earn Whitstable a 2-0 win over Erith and Lordswood with goals from Andy Doerr(pen) and Ray Broad beat Greenwich 2-1 the losers netting through Lee Mansfield.Maidstone won 3-1 in Group C at Deal 3-1 and despite Dave Bathgate giving the home side the lead Jimmy Strouts(2) and Simon Austin hit back for the stones.The game between Tunbridge Wells and VCD finshed 0-0. Top scorer Curtis Williams gave Thamesmead a 1-0 win at Sevenoaks in Group D while a late Glen McTaggert goal earnt Slade Green a 1-1 draw with Beckenham who had gone ahead through Cedric Meeko.
