TITLE RACE CLOSES UP
Maidstone Utd's midweek victory over Tunbridge Wells brought them to within 3 points of long time leaders Beckenham Town. Neither will want any slip ups this weekend: Beckenham entertain Greenwich Borough and Maidstone head off into London to play Sporting Bengal. Third placed Thamesmead Town, who came so close to ending Maidstone's unbeaten record last week, travel to Deal Town. Beckenham squad grows in size....more Beckenham
squad grows in size
Beckenham Manager Gavin Rose (left) has been busy strengthening his squad this week having signed Jermaine Hinds from Fisher Athletic on Tuesday he has now signed youngster Carlton Price from Ryman League Whyteleafe. Hythe will be looking to avenge their League Cup Semi Final defeat of last season as they travel to Herne Bay this weekend. However, it will be no easy task as the Bay have won three out of their four home games so far this season. Terry Hill from Thamesmead on BECKENHAM TOWN V GREENWICH BOROUGH..As we all know now no game for Beck's last week due a problem with their kit, but Greenwich got off the mark with their first win of the season with a 1-0 win over bottom place Sevenoaks Town. Beckenham will want to forget about last week's fiasco and quickly get back on track. I can not see Greenwich stopping Beck?s gaining another three points here. DEAL TOWN V THAMESMEAD TOWN..A last minute penalty for Deal secured all three points at Tunbridge wells, while Thamesmead shared the points with Maidstone in a 1-1 draw at Bayliss ave. Deal have won four and drawn four and are sitting in sixth place in the laegue whereas Thamesmead remain unbeaten and are still in second spot before Maidstone's game on Tuesday night.Deal is always a difficult place to get three points from but with Curtis Williams keep getting on the score sheet and the return of Dean Burns i think mead can get all three. |
