Town in the dumps after second heavy defeat......On the back of a second successive 4-0 defeat, this time
away to Ashford Whitstable can take little comfort from their last two
performances. With keeper Kevin Fewell who was outstanding and easily the m.o.m for the visitors, this despite
picking the ball out of his net four times says it all.
But for Fewell's heroics
Whitstable could easily have been five or six goals down at the interval their only
effort was a single shot on target against the home side in the first 45
minutes. They fared little better in the second half, conceding another two,
without keeper Fewell’s interventions it could have been double that, in reply Whitstable
managed two further shots on target until the referee brought an end to
proceedings.
Theses statistics add up to eight goals against
in two games without reply, more disturbingly Whitstable have managed a total of just
three shots on target in one hundred and eighty minutes of football, and
understandable confidence is at an all time low. Manager Marc Seager’s task is
to lift his side for next weeks FA Cup-tie at home to Selsey, a side full of
confidence who are unbeaten so far this season. Match Report to follow:
