“All you have to try and do is keep it simple, I was just glad that I was able to do my little bit when Marc put me on. When you are part of a team, it doesn’t really matter about what you’ve done as long as it’s contributed to the side’s performance that really all the matters.

It was good to get off to a win at the Belmont, you always want to make your own ground a hard place to come to, that’s what all good sides do, three points at home that will do for a start.”

Mundey, who joined Town in the closed season, was one of a few players earmarked by manager Marc Seager as a player who can make a difference in his Whitstable side. “Mark is a quality player who has kept himself remarkably fit and keeps football simple, he just sits in the middle breaks up play and gives the ball. Mind you as you can see when he went on as sub, he is still a threat around the box and looked comfortable from the minute he went on”
