Whitstable Town 3 vs. Croydon Athletic 2: Hard working Town deserve the points….After thirty minutes there looked to be only one winner in the first home game of the season, Croydon were rampant after sloppy play gifted the visitors an early goal.
Whitstable owe the victory partly to some great saves by Town keeper Kevin Fewll but also some level headed play by Jake Gess who calmly stepped up to convert not one; but two hard won penalty’s. Gess’s second levelled the scores at two apiece, Town’s winner coming from a great Danny Tipple cross turned for an own goal. Full match report to follow: |
