Whitstable manager Marc Seager defended his decision to concentrate on playing higher league opposition in the run up to the start of the new season in the Ryman South, his side loosing 4-3 to a very strong Maidstone Utd team.
“Yes the players need to get that winning mentality but they also need to lift themselves when they loose.” Whitstable have played Margate, Dartford and Maidstone in less than ten days. They are away to Canvey Island on Sat before the Bruce Smith Shield on Tuesday evening then host Dover at the Belmont before the start of the Ryman League.
