After his first three warm up games were called
off, reserves manager Glen Essen at last had the chance to see the quality of
players he has at his disposal. Whitstable taking a couple of first team
regulars along with youth players and trialist’s;
Glen joined Town manager Marc
Seager on the bench in an entertaining 1-1 draw against Kent Premier League
side Deal Town. “After the disaster of
the Norton Sports game last week when we lost 5-2; a motorway accident meant a
number of player were unable to make the game, it was nice to see the lads in a
competitive game. I am looking forward to Saturday when we take on Herne Bay;
for me that’s when the season starts. It’s been a very frustrating couple of
weeks so to say I am looking forward to the game is and understatement.”
