Whitstable Town 0 Dartford 4: “Sometimes you have to hold your hand up and say to the players, ok today was not our day and we were beaten by a very good side. But there were lessons we learn, firstly we worked hard to win the ball, then we  gave it away to cheaply. Good sides don’t do that and we must learn from games like today, it was great workout for the lads on as very hot day. My chairman tells me the Dartford committee were saying that is the best Dartford side they have had in the last ten years.

On today’s performance I have to gree, and I think they will be a force to be reckoned with in the Ryman Premier this season. But there were positives we can take from the game three of the goals came about with us in possession, and then we never ‘looked after the ball’ it’s good that we have games against sides like Margate, Dover today and then Maidstone on Weds as it will stand us in good stead for our first league game.

We had a few players injured or missing today, Danny Tipple is on holiday as is Sam Denley, Paul Ainsworth, Garry Sayer and Tommy Martin all on the treatment table, but no excuses, the better side won.”
