Can the rest of the league close the gap on the top three this Saturday?

Image
Football since 1886
Tuesday's night?s results lift Lordswood into 7th, one point ahead of Whitstable, and Herne Bay into 4th, and one place ahead of Town's forthcoming opposition Erith & Belvedere.Whitstable play the Deres at the Belmont Ground on Saturday kick off at 3.00pm. (Download and print out the matchday poster now!). E & B will be anxious not to let the 6 points gap grow any wider between themselves and the top three. The Oystermen on the other hand need the three points for themselves to go ahead of the Deres, and providing other results go their way they could possibly take fifth spot in the league. By Peter Albin

Whitstable supporters will have fingers crossed that Tunbridge Wells draw with Deal Town and that Sporting Bengal will repeat last years performance at Winch's Field and blow away The Blues! For those with poor memories, otherwise known as Bay fans, it was 2-6 to Sporting. League leaders, and six points clear of the field, Beckenham Town should be able to pick up the points at 14th placed Erith Town. They will also be hoping that second and third placed Thamesmead Town and Maidstone United share the points at Bayliss Avenue widening the gap at the top. This is probably the top fixture for the independent Kent League fanatic, as the Stones will be sure to attract a good crowd, even at Thamesmead! Teams definitely not wanting a drawn result will be Greenwich Boro' and Sevenoaks, who both only have one point so far, and will be playing each other at Harrow Meadow.

The remaining mid table games on Saturday are Hythe Town v VCD Athletic and Lordswood v Slade Green. Both of these matches can affect WTFC's league position come Saturday evening.

Come on you Reds!
