Whitstable manager Marc Seager told the website: “I heard a whisper that he’d been speaking to Ramsgate, despite numerous attempts to contact Steve he would not return my calls so I phoned Jim Ward who confirmed he signed Lloyd. I have no problem with Ramsgate or with Jim, what has really upset me is the way the lad did not have the common courtesy to inform me first and I was less than happy to find out the way I did.

If any Whitstable Town players are offered the chance to step up to the next level, I would never stand in their way and they all know they go with mine and the clubs blessing.”

Seager added: “I am not disappointed that Lloyd has left the club to play football in a higher league, but I am both disappointed and angry that I found out through a third party and not the player himself. The way that Steve has conducted himself, especially after being given the chance to play Ryman League football at the Belmont, I believe shows a total lack of respect to myself and more importantly Whitstable Town Football Club.
