Manager Marc Seager: "happy to have
stopped shipping goals."
Manager Marc Seager
said he is happy to have stopped shipping goals. ? My first objective when I
took over was to stop shipping so many goals, we went from a side last year, to
one this, who conceded almost a quarter of the goals we scored in the whole of last
season in the first week of this. So if you ask me am I happy that we have only
conceded two in the last three games the answer is yes, we have tightened up at
the back, so a clean sheet is a big plus. I am less than happy that we have not
found the net as often as I would have liked. With the quality forwards we have
here at the club we should be knocking them in

found the net as often as I would have liked. With the quality forwards we have
here at the club we should be knocking them in and I think that part of the
problem is we are not relaxing when we are on the ball, we should be keeping it
more. It gives you that little bit of time, which then gives you the choice of
another option, which makes all the difference. Anyone who was at the game on
Saturday will tell you we could have easily been three or four ahead by half
time, we are doing everything right, and then we became frustrated and lost our
shape a little. I am asking players to work harder when they do not have the
ball, and then not give it away, we have been working hard in training on
different things and I believe that its starting to show in open play. We just
need to hit the net a bit more often and we will start to make the other teams
sit up and take notice.?
