by Mark Wyver: Whitstable Town continued their impressive end of season form with a 2-1 win at Croydon Athletic. On a pitch that was bumpy and short of grass the visitors were forced into a reshiffle before the game ....
when Ian Pulman was caught in traffic on his way to the ground and was replaced by Nick Bagley. The home side had the first chance when a Greg Andrew shot went just wide of Kevin Fewell's goal. A 20 yard chip from Ben Shannon also went over the bar. Picture by Per Laleng: Kevin Fewell diving save: David Cory had the visitors best chance of a scrappy first half when he fired over the bar after being set up by Marcos Perona. The 38th minute was the main talking point of the first half when Adam Greenway threw a punch at Sam Denly which gave Referee Mr Austin no alternative mut to show Greenway the red card. A minute before the interval Reds left back Danny Tipple was adjudged to have been fouled in the penalty area and Cory stepped up to easily beat Michael Lidbury in the home goal. Town increased their lead two minutes into the second half when a Bagley corner was headed home by Liam Quinn to make it 2-0 to Marc Seager's side. From then on the ten man home side looked dangerous and pulled a goal back from a superb header from the dangerous Moses Ademola. They then bombarded Fewell's goal with Lamin Ojo, Danny Waldren and Ademola all having efforts blocked or saved. The last chance for an equaliser came in the last minute when substitute Richard Blackwell fired a shot agianst the bar. A well earned three points for a hard working Whitstable Town side. 1.
