Whitstable Town made it four games unbeaten in the Ryman Division One South after drawing 1-1 with Play Off challengers Burgess Hill Town at Belmont Road. Marc Seager made one change to the starting line up with Dan Wisker coming in at the expense of Tommy Martin who was relegated to the bench. In an uninspiring first half it was the visitors who took a seventeenth minute lead when the dangerous Shaheen Sadough with the help of a blatant handball shrugged off the challenge of Liam Quinn to beat Kevin Fewell to make it 1-0 to the Sussex outfit. The Reds failed to test Chris May in the visitors goal during the first half when the wind played a big part in the proceedings. After a roasting from Seager during the half time interval the former Kent League title winners looked a better side with the midfield duo of Clint Gooding and Marcos Perona taking a grip on the second half. Picture: by Per Laleng: Dan Wisker celebrating his goal: The equaliser arrived when Jake Gess received the ball on the left and his deep cross fell to Dan Wisker who was making his first start since arriving from Margate and he cooly took the ball down and beat May to the delight of the home supporters. Kevin Fewell who must be a copntender for Player of the Season made a superb double save late on which denied Burgess Hill Town of gaining the three points they needed and The Oystermen remain in 16th position in the Ryman Division One South. |
