Whitstable manager
Marc Seager speaking about the supporters Xmas Party, the win against Hythe and
how happy he is with the way his players have responded since ho took over as
manager. ?If you had offered me, back in the summer when I took over as
Whitstable?s manager that we?d be in the quarterfinals of two cups, sitting 3rd
in the league going into the New Year I would have bitten your hand off. I
think that today?s game was a very important one for the club; it?s those sorts
of results that win teams titles and trophies, the type of game when you know
you are not playing well, but can still grind out a result. I know it was not the
best of games to watch, the supporters are used to us playing half decent
football and scoring goals but I?m sure they are just as happy with the three points
as I am.? Audio... see 'More'

Simon Kay Audio: He praises
his depleted reserves side who are still top of the table going into the New
Year, Kay impressed with the lads who came into the squad due to injuries and
players with the first team. They lead by goal difference as they go into the
Xmas break, their next game is not until the second week in January and he says
how impressed he has been with his players, often they have played when less
than fully fit, he rightly praises their commitment to the team. After the
success of last season, gaining promotion from Div 2 to the 1st Div,
Kay and his assistant Peter Budge and other backroom staff have confounded everyone
with the way the team has performed. To be top of the table at Christmas is
great, Kay will be the first to say there is a long way to go until the end of
the season and the league can still be won or lost.

?Oysters grab the points? Whitstable Town 1 v Hythe 0: ?KOKL Saturday 18th December 2005: In a largely forgettable first 45 minutes played in a swirling wind, Whitstable had a below par game which new club sponsor Joe Brownett described as: ?the poorest I have seen the lads play this year?. His word were echoed by Whitstable manager Marc Seager who told his players at half time; ?we need to play at a higher tempo, take the game to them more and we can win, sure the wind is effecting the game, it?s the same for both sides but we all know we can play far, far better than we did in the first half.? |

plus pictures ?Supporters Xmas Party?.was hailed as a
great success on Saturday when the club supporters held their first ever
Christmas party, organised by the ?Oysterboys? who invited everyone to
their ?Supporters Xmas Party?. Held in the clubhouse bar after the game,
all were invited: supporters, players, wives and children with everyone
entering into the Xmas spirit and having a great evening It was fun event and the idea was to get everyone in the
Christmas spirit. With everyone singing and dancing and generally having a
great time, all agreed this was just the beginning and other events will
follow. It was so nice to see the supporters and so many children enjoying a really
fun evening. From the club: a big thank you to the supporters for laying on the
food and the ?entertainment?, with carol singing by the Oysterboys and accompanied dancing,
who need ?Come Dancing on TV? when you can see performances of such a high standard
as this on a Saturday night!.. Great fun?
