ImageDraw enough for ?Top Town?  Lordswood 3 Whitstable Town 3:  Kent Cup
Picture Aaron Knight scorer of two goals for Town: Whitstable maintained their position as
Group B leader in the KOF League Cup, goals from Sam Prett and two from Aaron Knight keeping Town one point ahead of Lordswood at the group stage.
Whilst Whitstable started the brighter they found themselves 1-0 down after 10 minutes, Lordswood?s Cormack volleyed in from 25 yards, after Town failed to clear the ball in the home sides first attack, his shot giving Sam Mott in goal no chance. Town responded, Prett going close on two occasions, home side keeper Gary Hopper saving well from a Marc Seager free kick after Andy Constable was fouled just outside the area.
Town went further behind with a disputed goal, clearly offside as Doerr lobbed the ball over Mott, Doerr saying to
Whitstable coach Simon Halsey as they left the pitch at the interval ?I was lucky there, I was four or five yards off?

THE WEEK AHEAD - 6th December
ImageSIX MORE POINTS?
This Wednesday night (7th Dec.) Whitstable Town play the first of a double fixture at Lordswood in the League Cup group 'B'. Neither side is yet assured of a berth in the quarter finals. Whitstable currently top the table by a point and need six more to be assured of a place in the quarter finals draw, Lordswood, in second have a game in hand and need seven more. The two sides meet for their second match at the Belmont Road Ground next Tuesday night, the 13th December. This coming Saturday should provide plenty of goals in the KOFL Premiership as six of the top seven teams play against six from the bottom half of the current league table. There's plenty of scope for a shock result though because five of that elite number are playing away from home.

Beckenham Town 2 ? 3 Maidstone United; Eden Park Avenue, Beckenham

Kentish Observer Kent League: Saturday 3rd December 2005...One of the most exciting Kent League games for years ended in dramatic fashion as Maidstone United came from 2-1 down to equalise in stoppage time and then grab a winner with five minutes of additional time played.

It was no more than The Stones deserved after creating a multitude of chances against a strong Beckenham side. And Maidstone?s manager Lloyd Hume certainly felt his players deserved their win. He said: I think anything but a victory today would have been an injustice to our team. They?ve scored two goals but I think they were sloppy goals to give away and they were defensive mistakes. We probably created seven or eight good chances, not through defensive mistakes but through good football and I think the players were superb.?

Andy Constable AUDIO PDF Print E-mail

ImageFor the second week running Constable was celebrating a late match winner, after his coolly taken strike, Hughes just getting his fingertips to the ball but was unable to parry it wide of his goal in the 89th minute. The move was started by Sayer who played a great ball to Knight, his quick delivery gave Constable just the yard of space he needed to win the game ?The last thing I want is the tag of ?super-sub,?? said Constable: ?It was special to score in front of the gas works end supporters for the second week in a row to win the game, but if I?m honest I want to start every game. But Seager?s has a problem; as three strikers into two will not go, so at the moment I am sitting it out. But I am very happy with my game, scoring goals and loving my football at Whitstable.?
