Managers words...Marc Seager & Simon Halsey PDF Print E-mail
Marc Seager & Simon Halsey speaking after the FA Cup victory against Guildford, Whitstable winning 1-0 and Marc and Simon both saying how pleased they were with the professional performance. ?We defended well, I though that our defence was fantastic on a day when we could have easily slipped up on a pitch that was very uneven and winning games like that we would have lost last season. We are trying to install a winning mentality in the lads, we know that we can?t always play pretty football and at the end of the day to go away from home ands our keeper Kevin Fewell not to make a save I rate as a fantastic team performance.? Said Seager. Simon Halsey added: ?You might not think we played very well, I thought that when you consider we were away from home against a side we know nothing about I rate it as a professional team performance. As Marc says we would have lost that game last season, this we are a stronger side from front to back.?

Simon Halsey AUDIO:
WTFC coach Simon Halsey speaking after Saturdays 4-2 defeat in the pre-season friendly against Sittingbourne. ?No excuses? said Halsey we were poor, but better that we get a wake up call now than breeze through all the pre-season and then find we are off the pace come the start of the Kent League. We fell way, way short of what this club is about, we are building a squad which is far better than we played on Tuesday night, but we must not kid ourselves we need to work hard and its only the lads who are prepared to put in the effort who will be in with a chance. 75% is no good we want 100% form the lads. We want them to be winners.?

WTFC manager Marc Seager
Marc Seager AUDIO: WTFC manger pulls no punches after the game on Tuesday when Town went 4-0 in the first half against Sittingbourne. ?If you look at this as two separate games we lost the first half 4-0 but won the second 2-0, now that does not gloss over the fact that we were not good enough. I know what I want from the players, they know how they should play but just let themselves down. There were one or two plusses but the most important thing was that we learnt a lot about the game and that will stand us in good stead. Come the Kent League kick off on August the 12th.?
