Audio: Marc Seager on
his mobile on the way to training in Canterbury. “It’s just a pity that the
game tonight has been called off, I know that Joe and Bruce and the guys have
worked really hard on the pitch and I was told today that the pitch looked absolutely
gorgeous, so yes it’s disappointing but the players safety must come first. On
the plus side, Steve Marshall is back doing some straight line running which
puts us nearly at full strength and to be honest the games can’t come quick
enough for the lads the way we are playing.”

Picture Marc Seager collecting an earlier award from KL Denise Richmond: Whitstable Town manager on
hearing the news that he had been named KPL manager of the month for January: "I am over the moon to have
been awarded the Manager of the month award for January, to add to the one I
collected back in September. Not for one minute in my wildest dreams would I
have ever envisaged that I would be collecting the January award as manager of
a team still unbeaten domestically in what can only be called, to date, ‘a
dream season’.

Whitstable Town manager Marc Seager speaking
after his side beat Sporting Bengal 5-1 in what he described as; “Possibly the
worst we have played all season,” then he added: “if that’s our one bad game
out of twenty, well I will take that and look towards the remaining twelve
games until the end of the season. I will say publicly for the first time, yes
we are going for the treble. I believe we have enough about us to go all the
way, others sides have been dropping points around us; our greatest rivals
Herne Bay have done us a massive favour this week beating Thamesmead. Last week
they beat VCD and I sent Jason (Lillis) a text thanking him.”

Whitstable Town manager Mark Seager speaking at the clubs training session poured cold water on gossip that his side are in for an easy game against the leagues bottom club. “As far as we are concerned it’s a top of the table fixture; we will treat this game just the same as we did the one against Thamesmead. We will not be taking Sporting lightly they will get our utmost respect and as long as we get the three points and keep the pressure on the sides below us, that’s all I will be focused on."
