Picture: Bertie Braidwood scored for WTFC reserves:
Whitstable Town Reserves manager Ian Hossick was delighted with his young sides
performance after they earned a creditable 1-1 away at Cray. “It’s
always a difficult ground to play on,” said Hossick, “although I must
say that the Cray lads are a nice bunch and it was fairly even game. I
had a very young side out today and they played with sprit, as a
manager you can ask no more than that. With Thamesmead beating the
league leaders, today’s result keeps us in touch with the top two and
my aim is for the runners up spot. I think Bromley have it to loose and
as a manager you just have to keep trying to get the result that would
keep the pressure on sides above you. A win, would have been great, but
to come here and walk away with point, I will settle for that.”

The players talking in the changing rooms after the Deal 5-4 win. “Never played in a game like it before, it was quite unbelievable I was pleased to open the scoring I just struck it sweetly and was pleased I picked my spot, Twyman is a good keeper so I was pleased to beat him.”” said Marlon “We should have never had to score five we had the game in the bag but I was pleased to bag three goals, it was very exiting to play in, but we don’t want too many more games like that.” said Stuart: see More for Video

"I am hopeful that I will play some part in the game against
Deal on Tuesday night," Constable

taken out on Monday, not 'put in as some of the supporters joked' but I want to play at
least some part in the game; but we will have to see how it goes." King saying,
"Young Jon Akindi who we have on loans from Gravesend is quality, he's in to help
us out while Steve Marshall is injured and it takes a big player to fill Steve's
boots but Jon will be up to it."

Picture: Whitstable manager Marc Seager: With torrential rain, almost horizontal at times lashing
across Deal Town’s Charles ground the referee called the game off with less
that 60 minutes played with the score at 1-1. Deal took the lead in the first
half through a Tommy Martin own goal after they had missed two gilt-edge
weather assisted chances in the first 15 minutes. Whitstable with the strong
blustery wind in their face struggled against the elements to get a foothold in
the game equalized at the re-start.
