Whitstable go Red & White
ImageWhitstable go Red & White?Ken Gower of Whitstable Town who lives in Regent street was the main driving force behind the massive show of support for England?s World Cup bid as they turned their street into a sea of red and white flags. Ken, along with next door neighbour Matt and son Arron have spent the last week adding more flags each day, ?Ken started with a couple then I joined in and pretty soon we had them stretched across the road. It seems every time we decide that?s enough someone buys anther flag,? said Matt. With some giant 9ft by 6ft flags along with bunting stretching from one side to the other the whole street has taken on a carnival feeling. ?I want England to do well,? said Ken, ?everyone knows I love my football and that I have been involved with Whitstable for nearly 16 years they are my local team but when England are in the big competitions, and they don?t come any bigger than the World Cup, they are the ones I shall be supporting.? Tom Parker
AUDIO:
Tom Parker who won the Managers Player of the 2005/06 season speaking after the last game of the season, Tom who missed the last few games through injury was the most constant player in manager Marc Seaser?s side, only missing out when he pulled a muscle. Tom saying: ?I found it difficult adjusting to attacking wingback after spending so much of the season as full back, I think was a little too set on defence, which is no bad thing but I know I can contribute more to the team from a more attacking position. Mind; I don?t mind where I play, as I am lucky that I can adapt my game to fit into most positions. ?

We're BACK ON LINE...Suspicions were raised when the website went down briefly that the site had been hacked by the Germans, (previously it was closed for 2 days when some Russians hacked into the site) All is now well and we shall be concentrating on England and the world Cup adventure.
Don't forget to come to the clubhouse as Elwood and the lads have made sure we can watch on a big screen, so come and enjoy the footy with real football fans, who watch it week in week out whatever the weather.

Steve Marshall Audio:
another audio interview from the last game of 2005-06 season, Steve speaking at Tunbridge Wells about the season just finished. Steve saying that his relative injury free season and the way that Marc has rested him when needed, which has helped him through the season. Finishing with the golden boot as the top scorer, just piping Andy Constable in the final few weeks.  Despite suffering a back injury during the season Steve is looking forward to pulling on the red & white of Town for another season. ?If I stay injury free and continue to enjoy my football at Whitstable as I have these last few seasons then I see no reason why I can?t have another season and hopefully bang in a few more goals and together with the rest of the lads get Town into the next league.?
