KENT SENIOR TROPHY REVIEW ...WTFC v Bearsted in final

The Final of the Kent Senior Trophy (Sponsored by Lea-Ray Sports) for 2006/07 will be contested by Bearsted FC and Whitstable Town FC after both sides were successful in their respective Semi Finals on Saturday.The Final will take place on Sunday April 15th Kick Off 3:00pm at Dartford FC.

 Kent Intermediate Cup…Quarter Final   VCD Athletic Res  0-0 Whitstable Town Res.. After Extra Time: 0-0 at ninety minutes Whitstable Town Res won 4-2 on penalties Our review begins at Honey Lane, as Bearsted, from the Kent County League Premier Division, defeated  Sevenoaks Town by five goals to one. After twenty minutes, the home side were three up, due to poor defending from the Kent League side, with a brace from Steve Smith and another from Lee Radford.

Midweek Kent Football with Mark Wyver
  by Mark Wyver: Ramsgate missed the chance to go within two points of the Ryman Premier Division table after going down 3-2 at lowly Worthing. The Rams who were 3-0 down at half time hit back with second half goals from Michael Phillips and David Cory. To complete a miserable night for Jimmy Ward's men they had James Gregory sent off.

The Great and the Small…
  By Peter Albin: The local press will be sharpening their pencils ready for those giant-killing headlines this weekend as the Southern Amateur League’s West Wickham visit the Belmont ground to play Whitstable Town in the semi-final of the Lea-Ray Kent Senior Trophy. Just one of the seemingly mis-matched games this weekend, kick off is at 3 o'clock, Saturday 3rd March.

Town beat Faversham 3-0 to progress to the semi finals of the KLC
By Mark Wyver: Picture Kevin Fewll, Towns keeper made two great saves: After some hard work from the Whitstable Town groundstaff duriing the day, Whitstable Town's much postponed Kent League Cup Quarter Final took place at Belmont Road. With a two legged semi final against Hythe in the waiting both sides fought out a typical local derby in very heavy conditions with Town right back Gary Sayer giving his usual full commitment in the tackle.

Whitstable are ‘Lillie White’ on the night:
Whitstable Town 3 v Faversham Town 0: Quarter final of the Kent Football League Premier Division Cup: In their first cup meeting for many a year Whitstable came out on top against local rivals Faversham (the Lillie Whites) on a less than perfect surface after heavy overnight rain. With the game in doubt right up until the 7-45 kick-off, the referee saying to both, managers at 6pm: “If it does not rain between now and the KO its game on.”

Kent Football.. all the games all the goals
Kent's interest in the FA Trophy came to an end at the Quarter Final stage. Gravesend & Northfleet crashed to a 3-0 defeat at Nationwide Conference rivals Northwich Victoria. Welling took the lead courtesy of defender Chris Moore at home to Grays Athletic only for the visitors from from Essex to hit back to win 4-1.
