Picture: 2 goal Stuart King: Tunbridge Wells made their second visit to The
Belmont this season, and lasted four minutes before conceding the first goal of
the afternoon. Having been beaten 3-0 in the Kent Senior Trophy back in January
visiting manager Martin Farnie must have been dreading this Kent League
match. The Reds had defender Gary Sayer back in the side
after injury replacing Michael Adcock who dropped to a very strong bench
alongside Micky Lane, Alex Hossick, Sam Prett and Marlon Button. |

Picture Steve Marshall: VIDEO: Steve Marshall: “I have never been involved in a run like this, every club I have played for since the U9’s through to senior football, this run of unbeaten games we are on is amazing. The sprit within the team is fantastic, we have the right blend of youth and experience in the squad quality players all pushing each other for the shirt and most importantly ‘no big time Charlie’s’. Marc has kept everyone’s feet on the ground and the lads are always focused on the next game, unfortunately I will still be out of action for at least another two or three weeks a but I am determined to play a part in the last few matches.” |

After last week's virtual 'wipe out', the Kent Football League saw
a complete programme of matches played which included the "game of the
day" in the Premier Division at Harrow Meadow between Greenwich Borough
and Thamesmead Town. In a tight game, the home side went in front, on six
minutes, through Meshach Nugent before a late strike from Victor Lojede secured
the points for 'Borough', their third straight victory. Second placed Croydon
dropped two points as they were held, at home, to a draw when they entertained
Herne Bay. Neil John put the home side in front midway through the second
period before Rhys Lawson equalised for the visitors. With Croydon's draw,
Whitstable Town extended their lead at the top to thirteen points as they beat
lowly Tunbridge Wells by four goals to one at the Belmont.

The previous meetings have produced seven goals, six of them and two wins for the Reds, in the Kent Senior Trophy and League. |
