UNDER 18’s ALSO WIN IN CUP

Ashford United Youth Under 18’s 1 Whitstable Town Under 18’s 2

Kent County Youth Cup 3rd Round

Sunday 1st December 2013

A highly charged cup encounter saw Towns U18’s win through to the next round. The first half saw all the goals scored with Whitstable breaking the deadlock with a neat finish in to the bottom corner from Zak Holman. Ashford soon levelled 10 minutes later with their right winger finishing off a well worked move. The hosts nearly took the lead when they were awarded a penalty, a poor back pass giving Towns keeper, Wes Miller, no chance with him fouling the Ashford striker. He was fortunate to just get a yellow card but made amends diving to his left and producing a good save. This rallied Whitstable allowing them to take control of the remainder of the half creating several chances one of which was converted by Lewis King with a looping header over the Ashford keeper from a great through ball from Elliot Bensted.

The second half was also full of action but largely for the wrong reasons. Both teams created chances with Ashford hitting the woodwork but with 2 minutes to go Whitstable’s Cameron Moore was dismissed for head butting the Ashford Centre back after the two had become involved in a tussle.

A battling performance from the boys, although soured at the end, sees them into the 4th round and completed what was a great day in the cups for the club with the first team also gaining a memorable victory.

UNDER 18’s HAMMER KENNINGTON

Whitstable Town U18’s 10 – 0 Kennington FC

Kent Youth League Under 18’s (South)

Sunday 17th November 2013

A fantastic result today for our Under 18’s, even though Kennington were unable to field a full starting 11.  Goals in the first half from Tom Huston – deflected, Cam Moore (2), Taylor Lanaway (2), Callum Reynolds, and Luke Foster puts Town 7 – 0 up at half time.  A battling performance from Kennington in the second half meant that Whitstable scored just 3 more – Allen Bangura, Zak Holman and Lewis King, rounding off a fine display.  This was their first game for 2 weeks, but the lads were creative, sticking to their task, they are now away next Sunday to Ashford Town in the Under 18’s County Cup.

A very proud Manager, Tony Hudson, commented “the boys were excellent today, showing commitment and drive even though Kennington were undermanned, we are now unbeaten in 5 matches and look to continue this at Ashford next week”.

UNDER 18’s WIN IN KENT YOUTH CUP

Fleetdown United Under 18’s 0 Whitstable Town Under 18’s 2

Kent County Youth Cup Round 2

Sunday 27th October 2013

The boys were never in trouble in this away tie to Fleetdown Utd.  The scoreline should have been significantly more, but a combination of missed chances and atrocious weather conditions meant the boys came out 2-0 winners with goals scored in each half from Lewis King and Tom Huston.

UNDER 18’s HAVE SECOND WIN ON THE SPIN

Whitstable Town Under 18’s 4 Ashford United Youth 1

Kent Youth League (Under 18 South)

Sunday 6th October 2014

Scorers Alan Bangura 3, Zack Holman 1

“This was a solid performance from the Under 18’s, which has now given them back to back wins. After grinding out a result last weekend against Hythe, this was a much more dominant display in which they created many opportunities and gained a well deserved victory, Alan Bangura scoring his second hatrick in two weeks!”
