Eynsford Under 18s 1 Whitstable Town Under 18s 6
Kent County Youth Cup 2nd Round
Sunday 1st November 2015
Whitstable are in the hat for the third round of the Kent County Cup after putting six past Eynsford last Sunday morning.
Town started brightly and took the lead on five minutes through a Josh Howland half volley after some excellent work down the right hand side by Dylan Davies. Davies beat his man and drilled the ball across the box. After a couple of deflections the ball sat up nicely for Howland to rifle home. The second goal followed soon after. A midfield break saw the hard working Kalian Webb slide the ball through for Joe Remington to calmly slot past the keeper. Eynsford grabbed a goal back after some sloppy play at the back for Whitstable who gifted their opponents a cheap corner. The ball was initially dealt with by the Town defence but a good ball back in to the box fell to the feet of an unmarked Eynsford player who finished well. Town seemed to push on and step up their play from this point and dominated the rest of the first half. The hard working Joe Remington won his side a penalty on thirty minutes which skipper Bradley Dale slotted away nicely.
Eynsford kicked off the second half with Whitstable ready to fly out the blocks. Some great pressing from Howland, Bartlett and Owen Fitt led to Town winning the ball back instantly, with Fitt playing in Howland to finish well just eighteen seconds after the referee’s whistle. A great start to the half. Bartlett soon got in on the act himself with a 20 yard strike which nestled in the bottom corner. The game was delayed for a period after a nasty looking collision between an Eynsford attacker and the railings around the outside of the pitch, but thankfully it was not as bad as it first looked. Town got back on with the game as they looked to make more openings. On 75 minutes Bradley Dale played in Howland who finished to complete his hat rick take his tally to an impressive 11 goals in 8 games.
That’s four wins on the bounce in all competitions for Town who will look to keep building on this nice run of form.
