SIMON HALSEY SPEAKS AFTER RAMSGATE GAME

Manager Simon Halsey after his young side’s 3-2 victory away at Ramsgate “What a great advert for football.  You saw two good sides that both played great end to end football for the whole ninety minutes.  The club knows from last year what good players Ramsgate have and they really tested us, particularly the first twenty minutes.  But we matched them; upped the tempo and responded in kind.  I must say that both keepers pulled off some great saves.

I was delighted with the whole squad; every one of them from our keeper right throughout the side. They played the sort of high intensity football that I know we are capable . We attacked in numbers and defended with a ‘never say die’ attitude which I have been demanding of them all.

A special mention to Scott Heard who I am enjoying working with immensely. We have a very good understanding and I must be doing something right as he is now our leading scorer and that from a midfield player is great to see; he sets the right tempo for the rest of the team.”
