UNDER 21’s CRUISE TO VICTORY

Whitstable Town Under 21’s strolled to a easy 4-0 win at home to Hastings United on Thursday evening.  Town took an early lead when Matty Guila fired home. Josh Algar added another on 14 minutes to leave Whitstable two up at half time. Ollie Lee slammed a shot home on 65 minutes before Pat Okwundinka finished the scoring on 78 minutes.

JJ Donnelly opened the scoring in the 20th minute but Maidstone stole the points with two late goals in the 87th and 90th minute from Bill Parkinson and Gary Smith respectively.

An off colour Whitstable Town Under 21s went down to a 2-1 defeat at Ramsgate on Thursday evening.  Things started well for Town as Andy McGinty converted a JJ Donnelly cross to put them in the lead.  However Ramsgate were level on 55 minutes when a high ball in the penalty area was diverted into his own net by Malachi Drackett. Ramsgate sealed a deserved win ten minutes from time with a goal from Ira Jackson.

Match Abandoned after 54 mins due to floodlight failure

Whitstable Town’s under 21 League Cup tie at home AFC Hornchurch was abandoned after 54 minutes due to a floodlight failure. The game was goal less at the time despite Town hitting the cross bar twice in the first half through Sam Callender and Josh Algar. Callender also missed a penalty.  The game will be replayed with a date to be advised

Whitstable Town Under 21s cruised through to the Second Round of the Ryman Under 21 Cup with a 2-0 win away at Ramsgate on Thursday evening. One in each half secured the win with the first goal coming after 15 minutes when a Jack Healey cross found JJ Donnelly who headed home. The second goal that sealed the result came on 50 minutes when Ossie Isichei fired home from close range.

A 36th minute Josh Algar goal was enough to give the Under 21’s all three points on Saturday afternoon. That takes them up to sixth in the table
